German Toilet Organization (GTO) is a non-profit organization based in Berlin, Germany. The GTO is committed to all people affected by inadequate sanitation, water supply and hygiene. In the three core areas of schools, capacity building and policy, the GTO team disseminates expertise, breaks the toilet taboo, strengthens political will and advocates for safe, clean and hygienic school toilets. To this end, the GTO conducts professional training at home and abroad, develops teaching materials and educational concepts, initiates school competitions and engages in networking.
