Overview

Welcome to The International Affairs Society! The International Affairs Society (IAS) is the largest non- partisan student organization at The George Washington University. We focus on giving globally-minded students opportunities to learn more about the world through meeting with experts, connecting them to internship opportunities, and engaging with the DC community. Our members are politically-active students interested in learning about and influencing domestic and international policy. Our student body spans all majors and comes from all corners of the globe as we embrace a truly international perspective. Here in the IAS, you can join a community of passionate and globally-minded peers in a variety of engaging activities. Our members have a wide range of opportunities to visit embassies and think tanks, attend career panels, meet and engage with ambassadors, government officials, and foreign dignitaries as well as compete with the internationally renowned GWU Model United Nations team and more. The IAS serves as the umbrella organization for The Globe, an undergraduate international affairs academic journal, The Washington Area Model United Nations Conference (WAMUNC) and The Greater Washington Conference on International Affairs (GWCIA). Learn more about our events and activities on the website and come meet the executive board at our General Member Meetings and office hours. Keep updated on our events by liking our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/GWUIAS) and Twitter (@GWU_IAS). Please also consider following our subsidary organization, WAMUNC, on LinkedIn.
