Future Law Academy (“FLA”) is an industry-based training platform dedicated to getting lawyers and law students ready for Industrial Revolution 4.0. Our Mission is to equip lawyers and law students with the foundational knowledge and skills to deal with technological developments such as legal analytics and artificial intelligence in law. We focus on lawyering for the future data-driven AI economy! As part of our broader capability building plans to be ready for Industrial Revolution 4.0, we also focus on strategic legal thinking and legal design thinking through our Strategic Legal Futures and Foresight programs. FLA is founded and managed by Zaid Hamzah, a technology lawyer and strategic counsel who specializes in technology innovation, intellectual property and data analytics. He is currently an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the RSIS, Nanyang Technological University where he teaches cybersecurity law and cyberterrorism. With over 30 years of professional legal, business and government experience, Zaid has served as Director at Microsoft, Chief Legal Officer at Telekom Malaysia and Senior Legal Adviser to Singtel’s Joint Venture with Sony Pictures and Warner Brothers. He is currently Regional Counsel acting for a New York Stock Exchange-listed company. Author of nine books, Zaid is admitted to practise law in Singapore and England and Wales. He graduated from the law school of the National University of Singapore and was awarded the Fulbright scholarship for his Master of Arts program at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, USA.
