We’re shifting the model on how architects get paid – breaking from the traditional design fee and trading design fees for equity in projects. We envision this could yield a win-win solution for the architect and developer. Ultimately, this allows for both parties to emphasize design as a vehicle to add tangible value to real estate. Architecture is not just how something looks, or feels, but rather how architecture can perform through the lens of a real estate return on investment model. Design dollars yield a better long-term return on investment than construction dollars. Spending time in the Pre-Design and Schematic Design phases with clear programmatic data and objectives pays dividends in the future.
