Overview

Established in 2017, FTLOScience (formerly The Skeptical Chemist) is an independent science publishing and education platform based in Singapore. Our mission is to create a more scientifically literate world by fostering the love of science. As kids, we’re naturally curious about the world, constantly asking ‘why’ and ‘how’ things are. However, this love for questioning is frowned upon by society, such that when we become adults, many of us accept things as they are—hesitant to question authority. At FTLOScience, we want to bring back this sense of wonder we felt as kids. We go beyond what is taught in textbooks, writing about new scientific discoveries in ways that both scientists and non-scientists can enjoy. We want to show the world that science is for everyone; that being scientifically literate helps us ask difficult questions, challenge the status quo and lead fulfilling lives.
