WES EDENS | FOUNDER Fragile Earth is the brainchild of Wes Edens, the co-founder and co-CEO of Fortress Investment Group, founded in 1998 with $400 million in assets under management, and which he has grown to be $41 billion of assets as of 2018. Under his leadership, Fortress has built and owned businesses across transportation, power, infrastructure, real estate, healthcare, media and entertainment. He has a proven track record of building and operating solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our day. With Fragile Earth, Edens is laser-focused on creating a solution to arguably the greatest challenge of our lifetime: reversing climate change. Put simply, he wants to take carbon out of the air, where it’s dangerous, and turn it into valuable commercial products, where it’s not—saving the planet, and harnessing the power of the free market to get there.
