Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation seeks to enhance the quality of life and place in Fort Wayne by providing positive opportunities for leisure time and by being stewards of its parklands, facilities, public trees and other resources entrusted to its care. Fort Wayne Parks maintains 87 parks covering 2, 840 acres of parkland. Park amenities include golf, playgrounds—including Indiana's first boundless playground, pools and splashpads, trails, a botanical conservatory, outdoor theatres, gardens, athletic fields, river recreation, a nature preserve, party venues and vibrant community and youth centers.
