Overview

At First Policy Response, we connect policy-makers, researchers and the front line to build better economic and social policy solutions to the crises brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Together with these communities, we highlight the ideas we need for a sustainable and equitable recovery. We do this in four ways: - Sharing original analysis from diverse contributors: Canada needs policy ideas that will help with all aspects of COVID-19 recovery, and we believe the best way to get them is to hear from people with a multitude of perspectives. - Aggregating the best policy thinking from other institutions and publications: Think of us as your one-stop shop for COVID-19 policy research and updates. - Convening communities online to expand the conversation: Policy-makers, researchers, practitioners and community members all have their own expertise to contribute. We gather them through regular video town halls, where we delve deeper into the issues and create a setting where these players can come together to find solutions. - Co-creating practical solutions: We work in a policy lab context with governments, researchers, public policy professionals and the front line to mobilize diverse evidence, experience and expertise in order to craft actionable policy and program solutions.
