Overview

Indigenous & Inuit communities across the country are suffering through a health crisis brought on by a lack of access to fairly priced, nutrional, fresh produce. What little nutritious produce that is available is typically exorbitantly priced. Whether due to economic challenges or a lack of political will, this problem has plagued Indigenous & Inuit communities for far too long. Not willing to stand on the sidelines, Indigenous entrepreneur Dawn Tabobondung, CEO of First Nations Growers, wants to empower her brothers and sisters with a solution. First Nations Growers builds indoor "Community Garden Market Farms" that provide Indigenous & Inuit communities with a financially viable, year round opportunity to grow their own nutritionally rich fresh produce and foods. "This is the project that can and will contribute to the betterment of all indigenous people.” - Dawn Tabobondung, CEO of First Nations Growers
