Filtration Services designs and manufactures continuous vacuum filtration equipment for the pharmaceutical, chemical and process industries. The most common filter type is the rotary drum vacuum filter [RDVF] and this is available in sizes from 1m² up to 60m² filtration area. The RDVF is a versatile machine and, with the appropriate solids discharge system, can be used in a wide range of industries and applications. Recent advances in technology have allowed us to develop a unique automatic knife advance system [AKAS] for use on precoat RDVFs. The AKAS is a synchonous knife advace system which is controllable in increments of 5 microns per drum revolution which helps to improve precoat usage efficiency. All of our equipment is of bespoke manufacture and we design each unit to meet the customers' specfic requirements. The filters are all of a robust construction to make them suitable for use in the most arduous of process conditions. The design is such that maintenance points are easily accessible and machine servicing can be quickly undertaken without the need for special tools. Another new development is the variable submergence rotary valve head. This is used in applications where the RDVF must be operated at different submergence levels in accordance with the process conditions. This special valve head reduces vacuum losses at the filter and increases the overall flexibility of the machine. As well as the RDVF, we design and manufacture rotary table vacuum filters [RTVF] and, for batch applications, single tipping pan filters.
