Overview
Originally formed in 1902 Featherstone Rovers began playing on the Featherstone Colliery Welfare Ground and moved to Post Office Road in 1921 when Featherstone Rovers were established as a semi proffessional club. Affectionately nicknamed "The Flatcappers", "The Colliers" and "Fev" Featherstone Rovers is known the world over with Post Office Road being one of the best known addresses in Rugby League. Featherstone Rovers have an enviable collection of silverware including 3 time Challenge Cup Winners at Wembley in 1963, 1967 and 1983 and more recently, Championship League Winners in 2010. In an area dependent on the coal mining industry Featherstone Rovers and Rugby League provided the entertainment and release valve of a passionate, close knit community. Unfortunately, the 1980's saw the demise of coal mining in the area but thankfully, Featherstone Rovers were here to stay. With an Award Winning Community Development Team the club has made giant strides in the Community in recent years winning acclaim from a long list of major organisations. We deliver an excellent range of interactive programs. Operating around the four pillars of Health, Education, Physical Activity and Social Inclusion we help and work with people of all age groups throughout The Five Towns area and beyond. This is a massive market place for many businesses and my role is to help our Business Partners engage and connect with that market place,
