Overview
The Fe Maidens is an all-girls FIRST robotics team from the Bronx High School of Science in Bronx, NY. Team 2265 was founded in December 2006 in an effort to encourage girls to explore and pursue STEM fields. As an all-girls FIRST robotics team, our primary mission has always been to encourage the involvement of women in the fields of science and engineering as well as to foster a spirit of appreciation and inquiry among young people regarding science and technology. We work within our team and community to spread the ideals of FIRST robotics while having fun learning the skills that will help us play an important role in the future through emphasis on trust and teamwork with the hopes of creating a comfortable, enthusiastic, and motivating team environment. Along with spreading FIRST ideals, we hope to dissolve the stereotypes of women in technology and engineering. Outside of competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition, the Fe Maidens work to achieve their mission through outreach and publicity intiatives.
