Europlanet links research institutions and companies active in planetary science in Europe and around the world; planetary science being the study of planets in our solar system and those around other stars. It is an interdisciplinary field of research that covers astronomy and geophysics, robotic and human exploration of other planets, as well as the search for extraterrestrial life. Anyone with an interest in planetary science (whether academic, industrial, professional or amateur) is welcome to join! https://www.europlanet-society.org/join/ Since 2005, Europlanet has provided Europe’s planetary science community with a platform to: - exchange ideas and personnel - share research tools, data and facilities - define key science goals for the future - engage stakeholders, policy makers and European Citizens with planetary science The Europlanet 2024 Research Infrastructure (EPN-2024-RI) is a €10 million project funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020. The project launched on 1st February 2020 and will run until 2024. The Society is the parent body of the annual Europlanet Science Congress (EPSC), the largest annual meeting on planetary science in Europe. The Europlanet Society continues to build on the heritage of 15 years of Europlanet projects funded by the European Commission and provides a sustainable legacy for infrastructure, virtual access facilities, tools and services developed through these activities.
