Ethos Recovery: Structured Sober Living for Men

Mental Health Care

Overview

Ethos Recovery is a long-term (12-18 months) structured recovery community for men that struggle with substance abuse & co-occurring disorders located in Los Angeles, CA. We differ from an acute-care model, which focuses on disrupting substance abuse/mental health issues during a specific treatment episode rather than fostering overall lifestyle change. We accomplish this by holding regular community meetings and going on weekly adventures meant to promote passion and self-discovery. The program structure is built on a social model that focuses on changing attitudes, values, beliefs, and behavior through peer engagement. Recovery is seen as a gradual, ongoing process of social, behavioral, and cognitive change. Major emphasis is placed on personal & social responsibility and community members are encouraged to examine their behavior. This process allows members the ability to evolve self-efficacy over time, which enables them to see trials and tribulations as experiences in life that foster growth and self-discovery rather than situations to avoid. Our core values are centered around developing a healthy lifestyle, engaging in self-discovery, adopting personal & social responsibility, and promoting positive risk-taking behavior. We provide a variety of referrals to special services, including addiction interventions, life skills coaching, residential treatment prior to entering sober living, individual/family therapists, fitness and holistic professionals, physician/psychiatric services, wilderness programs, and educational counseling. We take pride in frequent communication with our referral partners and parents of individuals struggling with addiction.
