Overview

One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA), currently promoted to Africa One Health University Network (AFROHUN) is an international network of 24 institutions located in 16 Universities in 8 African countries with strong motive to expand throughout the continent. AFROHUN ETHIOPIA is a branch of AFROHUN working in Ethiopia to promote and Advocate One Health approach. AFROHUN have been empowering universities to train the present and future health workforce to effectively prevent, detect and respond to threats posed by emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance. Currently, The Global Consortium lead by the University Of California Davis, One Health Institute, with university and industry partners recognized as leaders in One Health worldwide are working with AFROHUN on the project of OHW-NG(One Health Workforce-Next Generation). The student clubs at Mekelle and Jimma Universities, now promoted to national level club named as ‘Ethiopian Students One Health Innovation Club (ESOHIC)’ is fully supported and funded by AFROHUN-Ethiopia with the aim of equipping our ‘health related students’ with One Health competencies to produce strong One Health Workforce and global leaders in One Health approaches .
