Overview

The Estonian Bar Association (EBA) is the governing body for advocates (attorneys at law) in the Republic of Estonia. Our membership is composed of the nation’s top legal professionals. The EBA regulates attorneys in Estonia – via admission to the bar, disciplinary hearings, continuing education requirements, etc. — promotes the professional and economic interest of the bar, and administers legal aid for administrative, civil, criminal and refugee related matters. Current membership and officers: Membership: 1,020 President: Hannes Vallikivi Vice-President: Jaanus Tehver EBA membership does not include notaries or those possessing only a law degree. Since 1992, the EBA has been a member of the International Bar Association. Since 2004, we have been a full member of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), which advances the views of European attorneys.
