Overview

ERI conducts research into conflict-solving institutions in a changing constitutional state. We do both 'classic' legal research and empirical research. We study, among other things, compensation systems and law enforcement. Here we examine how institutions work in legal practice. This provides important insights for task performance, transparency, responsibility and liability. We do all this in collaboration with others: with other scientific disciplines and with other law faculties, at home and abroad. Five themes are central to this: institutions, compensation, enforcement, the rule of law and empirical legal studies (ELS).
