Knowledge shouldn't be buried under jargon. eParliament is a new effort by young Canadian academics to modernize academia's relationship with the public. Get involved (https://eparliament.ca/submit/). We are building an open-access knowledge database by working with experts to publish plain-language summaries of peer-reviewed research. In partnership with Wolfram Research, we are developing computational tools to make expert knowledge easier to access and understand. Through its open-access publications, eParliament aims to promote interdisciplinary collaborations, citizen engagement, and to get academic ideas into political discussions. eParliament was created by a collective of young scientists, consultants and artists inspired by the foundational strength of Canadian Parliament - unanticipated solutions to complex problems are created when different perspectives collaborate. Our vision is the creation of a new public institute that catalyzes innovation through citizen and expert engagement. Our mission is to work with academics to publish open-access expert knowledge in simple language. Our values are: 1. Intellectual Diversity 2. Promoting Young Academics 3.
