Overview

The Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA) was established in 2012 to promote, on a non-profit basis, the advancement of the practice and quality of environmental assessment in South Africa in the public interest, in the interest of the environment and in terms of relevant legislation. EAPASA is the single Registration Authority for Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAPs) in South Africa. EAPs are required to register with EAPASA and are evaluated against a set of core competencies using the "Recognition of Prior Learning" principles. EAPASA is set up to register EAPs in South Africa as per the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) 24H Registration Authority Regulations .
