Overview

Enactus, known before October 2012 as Students In Free Enterprise, is an international non-profit organization dedicated to enabling progress through entrepreneurial action. Enactus provides a platform for university students to collaborate with business and academic leaders in the development of entrepreneurial-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities. Since its inception in 2014, ENACTUS SATYAWATI has undertaken several community projects namely, Project Sahyog and Project Punarkriti. Our on-going project is 'Project Tabeer'. Project Tabeer- Under this project, we have collaborated with the Domestic Violence Survivors community. This project aims to eradicate the use of plastic. Under this project, we are making cutlery using areca tree branches. The whole process of manufacturing the product is undertaken by the community with the help of machinery and the end product is environment-friendly, cost-effective and a perfect substitution for plastic cutlery. A reasonable amount of wage is provided to the community members for the same. Project Sahyog- Under this project, we collaborated with the LGBTQ community. In the project, we produced Turmeric (Haldi) and other spices containing bioactive compounds. LGBTQ community has done the entire work from cutting to blending while maintaining hygiene. Reasonable Wages were provided to the community members for the same. Project Punarkriti- Under this project, we collaborated with the INDO-PAK refugees and helped them gain employment. We provided them with work like manufacturing denim bags, denim pouches and denim footwear. We helped them in gaining entrepreneurial skills and trained them in manufacturing products using discarded clothes. Reasonable wages were provided to the community members for their hard work.
