Overview

Enactus is an international organization that connects student, academic and business leaders through entrepreneurship-based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities. Enactus NSIT was established in the year 2012 with the students realizing the possibility of upliftment of economically weaker sections through viable business models. The current projects include: - Project Farm to Fork - The project is aimed at educating the farmers on organic farming and connecting them directly to customers, thereby eliminating the middlemen from the chain and increasing the profit margins of the farmers. - Project Drinking Water – This project is being done in collaboration with Enactus Bayreuth e. V., Germany, with the objective of providing cheap, safe drinking water to the needful locality of Madanpur Khadar in Delhi. - Project Greensole – The project seeks to recycle used shoes and provide footwear to those who are unable to afford it. Till date, 4 projects have been successfully completed bringing about a noticeable change in the condition of the targeted community. Project Saksharta aimed at providing quality primary education to children and generating a source of income for the educated youth of Bharat Vihar community (near Dwarka) by training the youth to teach the children of their community. Project Pukaar sought the upliftment of the differently-abled by creating self-employment opportunities for them through training in printing of customized clothes. Project Kilkari empowered the underprivileged women by training them to design and produce items like jewellery and soft toys, and linking them to the market. Project Umang is the recently concluded project of Enactus NSIT which sought to provide financial independence to women in underprivileged communities by training them in stitching.
