Emit Capital Asset Management (ECAM) is a fund manager specialising in climate finance investments. The Emit Capital Climate Finance Equity Fund is certified by the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia (RIAA). The Fund employs a thematic, global strategy targeting companies committed to decarbonisation and aligning to a net-zero pathway. Our investment strategy focuses on four themes: energy transformation, energy efficiency and storage, transportation and infrastructure, and water management. Our analysis includes carbon footprint (absolute and carbon intensity), ESG and impact investment criteria, negative screening and additionality factors. Complementing our portfolio management is our stewardship activity which seeks to address responsible investment factors of our investee companies. Our stewardship includes proxy voting along with direct communication with our global investments. A top-down thematic, fundamental, and bottom-up analysis approach is used to identify emerging global companies that benefit from structural changes resulting from climate finance. For each holding and for the portfolio as a whole, we use a proprietary factor model and a proprietary ESG and Impact Investment inclusion scorecard. Our investment strategy emphasizes stewardship through constant contact with our target companies on a variety of topics, focusing primarily on their efforts to reduce climate change and operate sustainably, including ESG factors. The Fund is long only and is expected to hold between 20-50 positions at any one time. Emit Capital is a member of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia (RIAA) and a supporter of the Taskforce on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
