Fundación Embajadores Comunitarios

Professional Training and Coaching

Overview

The Embajadores Comunitarios Foundation (known in Spanish as FEC) was founded in 2008, as an initiative of young university students from Venezuela targeted for teenagers that live in impoverished communities in the country. FEC is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), which aims to generate empowerment and develop leadership skills in talented young people in a condition of social exclusion, in order for them to bring about positive changes in their environment. Year after year, teams of around 50 volunteers, university students and graduates, join the different work teams of the organization with the clear goal of ensuring that more socially responsible leaders are formed in the areas that need them the most. The Ambassadors Program was born with the firm intention of training teenagers, still in their high-school years, through participation in Models of the United Nations (MUN). The participants learn to become representatives of nations, for which they develop skills in debating, public speaking and negotiation, in addition to concepts in regards to world knowledge and social sciences that are taught throughout the year. Internally, the program is divided into “delegations”, groups or segments of participants according to the area or community in which the activities are carried out. During the year, the delegations attend Model United Nations conferences organized by the MUN collegiate circuit in their region, where the beneficiaries put into practice the tools they have learned and fulfill their empowerment cycle.
