elkon is a marine electric engineering company established in 1980 and located in Istanbul, Turkey. The owner of the company is (since 2016) a group of 10 engineers with between 10 to 25 years experience in marine electrical engineering. We have a total of more than 55 electrical engineers. elkon is engineering, designing, manufacturing and commissioning Low Voltage Marine electric equipment such as: • main and emergency switchboards, • distribution boards, • motor control centers and starters, • consoles, • transformers, • batteries • Alarm Monitoring Systems, • Power Management Systems, • Electric Drives (especially we are very cost effective for electric propulsion system as we build our drives from ABB components with our own software). We have our own sales and after sales company in Norway (elkon Norge AS). Our sales company located very close to Oslo. We serve European shipbuilding industry such as Turkey, Spain, Norway, UAE, Romania, Italy, Poland, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Colombia, Russia etc. Actually we build: - a total of six vessels in Spain in three different shipyards; - 5 vessels in Romania in two different shipyards; - one vessel in UAE; - one vessel in Italy, - 6 vessels in Azerbaijan - one Navy vessel (Corvette) in Turkmenistan; - one Navy Tug Boat for Pakistan; - of course several projects in Turkish yards (mostly SANMAR, CEMRE, SEFİNE and TERSAN). We always use European made components such as ABB, Schneider, DEIF, Danfoss, Vacon, Lyngsoe Wartsila, CORVUS, Spear Power etc.
