Overview
Eitz Chaim School provides an inspiring, nurturing, intensive and challenging Jewish studies and general studies programme. Eitz Chaim prepares students for a joyful, life-long relationship with Hashem rooted in Torah learning and Yiras Shomayim, mitzvah observance and Derech Eretz. Eitz Chaim promotes Ahavas Yisroel for all Jews and inspired students to make a Kiddush Hashem in the wider Jewish community and world. Our Core Values Derech Eretz Kadma L’atorah Based on the Torah imperative of Derech Eretz Kadma L’atorah, we believe that character development is the foundation of chinuch. This principle guides us from classroom learning of limudei kodesh to school-wide initiatives such as Lilmod V’la’asos, the Middos Awareness Program, and all of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation’s middos tovos development programs. Chanoch L’Naar Al Pi Darko We recognize and appreciate the reality that our students represent a broad spectrum of academic capabilities and learning styles. Thus, we differentiate learning to enable our students to grow towards their unique potential. This is consistent with our belief in “Chanoch l’naar al pi darko – Educate each child according to his way.” The Whole Child Education is not only for the mind. We strive to inspire the hearts and souls of our students, gently shaping and moulding their character to forge a connection to their community and to the Jewish people as a whole. Educating the whole child means encouraging children to overcome personal challenges and celebrating their successes. Continuous Growth Eitz Chaim prides itself on providing avenues for professional growth and improvement for members of its faculty in each school department. Recent initiatives that have grown out of professional development include First Steps Writing in general studies, Differentiated Instruction in limudei kodesh, “Teaching Emunas Hashem” and harnessing new technologies in the classroom.
