Overview

The EGURALT project aims at the application and dissemination of innovation for the promotion of high-rise timber construction in the SUDOE area. To this end, research, technological development and innovation in timber construction will be promoted. The promotion of timber construction promotes the three key aspects of sustainable construction: Environmental Responsibility, Energy Efficiency and Health. Timber as a building material contributes to: - Reducing the emission of greenhouse gases compared to steel and concrete. - Sustainability as it is a natural, recyclable and reusable material. - Energy efficiency by requiring much less manufacturing energy, along with its qualities as a thermal insulator that make it a particularly suitable material for the construction of passive houses. The project will contribute to the fight against climate change by increasing the use of timber in construction and developing new products and industrialization processes. It will also contribute to social acceptability and raise awareness among public authorities of the social, economic and environmental benefits of timber construction.
