Overview

Egis Polska Sp. z o.o. is a part of the leading generic pharmaceutical company - Egis Pharmaceuticals PLC. Since 1994 we sell our products in Poland, providing new alternatives for the patients. We provide widely accessible generic and biosimilar medicines of the highest quality and reliability for patients worldwide. We devote EUR 43 million to research and development of our generic medicines annually. This also qualifies as one of the largest amounts spent on R&D among all companies of Central and Eastern Europe. In 2013 we launched our first biosimilar monoclonal antibody (mAb), which became the first mAb in the European Union approved by the European Commission. In the 2015/2016 business year, 80% of our EUR 536 million net turnover derived from export. Our products are sold to 58 countries worldwide. Egis is one of the leading generic pharmaceutical companies operating principally in the Central Eastern European and in the CIS regions. Our history dates back to more than a century and our activities extend to every field of the pharmaceutical value chain: from R&D through the production of APIs and FPs to sales and marketing. Our main therapeutic areas are the cardiovascular and the central nervous systems, metabolism, allergy, oncology and urology, however, we continuously open towards new therapeutic areas, including gynecology. We have launched our first biosimilar monoclonal antibody in 13 countries of our strategically important regions and the product has already become a market leader in a number of these countries since its launch. In the 2015/2016 business year our product portfolio consisted of 595 products that belong to 161 product families and contain 145 kinds of active ingredients. Ever since our foundation, our mission has been to contribute to the protection of patients’ health and the improvement of their quality of life with our high-quality, value-added products providing modern and cost-efficient therapies.
