Earth Science Solutions – A New Era In response to the current global financial situation, ESS has re-positioned itself to best serve our current and future clients to achieve their environmental and social goals, cost-effectively. We are a small core of environmental, social and earth scientists, and engineering specialists with a large association of specialists with whom we have worked for 38 years in various sectors (e.g., mining, oil and gas, agriculture, infrastructure and industry). Having a large pool of experienced, specialists as associates, we offer the same depth and quality as the large, international consultancies but our costs reflect our efficiencies. ESS offers a unique business ethos, where all members of the team are professionals in their respective fields, which is matched by the teams’ mobility and versatility. Internationally, ESS has representation in London (UK), Wellington (New Zealand), Brisbane (Australia), and Toronto (Canada). The skills base ranges across the social, biological, and earth science fields. New to the ESS portfolio, and as an integral part of the company’s ability to service their clientele, is the introduction of risk assessment and auditing. These skills include the pre development stage and risk assessment associated with due diligence, and the requirements of funding agencies. Our clientele spans banking and financial institutions, corporate and private investment as well as the mining, agricultural, forestry and tourism sectors. New blood has brokered our five year plan, with a shift to the holistic servicing of clients’ needs, from inception through planning to closure. Sustainability is imperative to the financial viability and includes an understanding that people are an integral part of the environment.
