Overview

The E.T.S.V. Scintilla is the study association of the electrical engineering program. The association was founded almost 60 years ago on September 9, 1965. Nowadays, the association has around 1100 members, of which 750 are pursuing the electrical engineering study. Scintilla's main task is to support students throughout their studies and provide social activities alongside their academic pursuits. This task is broadly divided into four main objectives: -Expanding the practical and theoretical knowledge of electrical engineering and other relevant disciplines among the members -Representing the study interests of electrical engineering students at the University of Twente. -Assisting students in exploring career paths -Fostering the high-quality of education in Electrical Engineering. -Strengthening the bond among the members. To realize these objectives, many activities are consistently executed such as: -Organizing meetings and gatherings. -Arranging and participating in excursions. -Engaging in discussions with relevant bodies of the University of Twente, both in general and specifically related to the Electrical Engineering program. -Publishing (technical) writings and promoting their circulation. -Maintaining connections with other study associations. -Cultivating other contacts that are in the interest of the association. Therefore, Scintilla aims to enhance the knowledge of its members and strives to connect them with the business world, preparing them for future endeavors. This goal naturally operates on two fronts, resulting in many companies already being familiar to our members by the time of graduation. This name recognition is not only important at the end of the study but also for securing potential internship positions.
