Triangle Downtowner Magazine is a locally-owned magazine that focuses on the downtown areas of Triangle cities and features positive, upbeat articles on hyper-local dining & food, entertainment, business, entrepreneurship, performing & visual arts, wine & beer, history, people, urban design, travel, charities, and more. Founded in 2005, the Downtowner is the longest-running monthly publication in the Triangle and reaches over 145,000 readers each month throughout the Triangle area. With an unparalleled 98.4% pick up rate, this free publication is one of the most-read magazines in the area, with all archived issues also available for online reading. The Downtowner is also the only publication available in all the upscale condos and apartments as well as local hotels, fine restaurants, dental offices, salons, chambers of commerce, government buildings, law offices, and hundreds more desirable locations. Unlike most other local publications, the Downtowner heavily utilizes social media to help promote its advertising clients as well as local events, charities, and community. Magazine staff works closely with local businesses, chambers, government, and leaders to ensure that it effectively covers the important issues and topics throughout the Triangle. Each year, the Downtowner donates a minimum of $75,000 in pro bono advertising to area charities and non-profits and encourages their advertisers and other businesses to join them in giving back to their local community.
