The Consortium Distretto Veneto della Pelle "Veneto District of Leather" is the only legal entity officially recognized by the Veneto Region, to represent the Veneto tanning sector: leather processing companies, machines and technology, chemical processes, recycling of processing residues. The Veneto Leather District Veneto is the first Italian tanning pole, for production values, equal to 58% of the Italian turnover, with an average of 12.5bn € / year of exports, for the tanning sector alone. This District is able to serve the entire market of natural leather products: clothing, footwear, accessories, furniture and automotives. That's of Veneto Leather District is a circular economy which uses, as raw material, cowhides, waste from the food industry, to create high quality leather products and recovers post-tanning processing residues to generate many other products, including fertilizers. Circularity, renewability, eco-compatibility are the values that guide the Veneto leather district and its Mission is to give a strong and unified "voice" to Veneto leather companies, defending and supporting the development of the economy of this territory, creating relationships with the institutions, Associations and Bodies, local, national and international, which may influence the interests of the sector. The Board of Directors of the Veneto leather District - DISTRETTO VENETO DELLA PELLE - includes entrepreneurs from different sectors of the supply chain, indicated by the main associations in the tanning sector and making it the "control room" of the entire supply chain.
