Overview

DIR Technologies has disrupted the status quo of quality assurance in the packaging industry by applying technology born in the defense industry to sealing integrity monitoring. Because sampling isn’t enough. DIR solutions offer a quantum leap from commonly used methods of sampling by providing 100% in-line, non-intrusive inspection that does not result in production slowdown. DIR Technologies is leading the way in the use of thermal imaging in the pharmaceutical industry for PAT applications and has filed several patents on the subject. Solutions DIR Technologies is the developer and provider of first-in-industry thermography-based inspection solutions for packaging quality assurance and process control. DIR’s flagship product, the Induction Integrity Verification System (I2VS) is the first system that can provide true process control with 100% sealing integrity monitoring for pharmaceutical primary packaging. The I2VS won the ACHEMA 2015 Innovation Award for best new technology in packaging. DIR Technologies is currently in the process of expanding the company’s product portfolio to include quality assurance and process control solutions for non-pharmaceutical packagers including the I2VS Lite, a stripped down, more modular version of the I2VS and the DIR Eye for heat sealing monitoring. The DIR Eye has numerous applications for packaging in different industries including: food and beverage, cosmetics, chemicals and medical device packaging. DIR solutions are in various stages of sales, pilots and trials with a number of tier one companies around the world. Background The company was established in 2009 by entrepreneurs Eran Sinbar and Yoav Weinstein and is jointly owned by major Israeli defense companies Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, LTD, Elbit Systems and the Israeli-American fund SCP Vitalife.
