Overview
Habitat for Humanity DeKalb, Inc.(also known as HFHD or DeKalb Habitat) is an affiliate of the Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) organization. Incorporated in 1988 at the urging of theDeKalb County CEO Manual Maloof. Three decades ago, Maloof saw the need and recognized the benefits and the power of helping more people across DeKalb County become homeowners. Our Mission and Vision Habitat for Humanity envisions a world where everyone has access to safe affordable housing. This mission of Habitat for Humanity DeKalb is to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. We build and repair homes for DeKalb County current and future residents. We build bridges between people of diverse backgrounds, we build paths to more connected communities, we build ways for people of all walks of life to come together and share in building a community that allows access, equality and opportunity for all. Motivated by the belief that each of us is called to “act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God”, DeKalb Habitat seeks to be a partner and catalyst in building communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
