Overview

DeisHacks is a 48-hour online hackathon, for 200 Brandeis students. DeisHacks gathers diverse, top-performing graduate and undergraduate minds to solve specifically identified non-profit challenges. Our hacks are identified by 15 local non-profit organizations in which Brandeis students serve as non-voting Board Fellows. A hackathon is typically a technology-focused event, however, we’ve looked beyond computer science enthusiasts, integrating students of all majors, to help serve local non-profit needs. DeisHacks looks to gather diverse, top-performing minds from all majors to solve specifically identified non-profit challenges. Applicants are selected and assigned to specific groups based on their strong suits to ensure diverse, high-performing teams. As a result of Brandeis’ close engagement with local non-profits, hacks are so closely calibrated to non-profits’ needs, thus leading to high implementation rates. http://deishacks.com
