THE VISION We envision a world where we are all genuinely connected through the practice of compassion and basic human values, and a world where our differences generate curiosity and appreciation for one another. THE MISSION To promote the basic human values of compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment and self-discipline to as broad an audience as possible. THE PROJECT Located in Ithaca, New York on the grounds of the Namgyal Monastery, the Dalai Lama Library and Learning Center will be a transformational hub for learning and promoting compassion and shared human values, attracting students, scholars, spiritual, civic and business leaders and practicioners of all faiths. The Library will serve as a central repository for all the collected works of the current and previous Dalai Lamas, and a place for study and exploration for scholars and the public. The Learning Center will offer free and low-cost programming including classes, talks, seminars, meditation and more.
