Overview

COMMITTED TO SUPPORTING THE NATION’S LONG-TERM ENERGY GOALS CWind Taiwan provides offshore wind farm training, best practice and support services to Taiwanese offshore wind farm developers and owners. The new partnership leverages CWind’s extensive offshore renewables experience with expertise topside and subsea, and proven ability to develop local content, and IOG detailed knowledge of the Taiwanese offshore renewables market. PREPARING TO MEET MARKET GROWTH OVER THE COMING YEARS The Taiwan offshore renewable market is on the cusp of exponential growth. This is due primarily to the introduction of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Management Act, which seeks to increase the percentage of renewable energy contribution from six to twenty percent by 2025. According to 4C Offshore, a leading offshore energy market research organisation, Taiwan is expected to achieve 5.5 GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2025. CWind’s impressive track record around the world, working at more than 40 windfarms across the UK and Europe, combined with IOG local insights, perfectly positions CWind Taiwan to play a significant role in shaping the future of Taiwan’s energy market. UTILISING INNOVATION AND EXPERIENCE IN EUROPE TO DEVELOP LOCAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE CWind established CWind Training in 2010 and in 2012, this became the first UK based and owned training facility to be accredited by the Global Wind Organisation (GWO). CWind Training offers a range of GWO accredited and skills and safety courses including tower rescue, confined space, sea survival and response team training. Utilising this knowledge and experience, CWind Taiwan will adapt and extend the respected CWind Training`s business model to support the growth of a core base of Taiwanese trained technicians, enabling local content in Taiwan.
