Overview

The Brazilian Government Response Team for Computer Security Incidents (CTIR Gov) is part of the Information Security Department (DSI) of the Institutional Security Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic (GSI / PR). CTIR Gov is a CSIRT of national responsibility for coordinating and implementing actions for the management of computer incidents (monitoring, treatment and response to computer incidents) in government bodies and entities and has the following competencies: • Advise the DSI in the planning and supervision of actions to manage incidents in the national information security activity; • Advise the DSI in the elaboration of normative and methodological requirements related to the actions destined to the management of incidents in the national activity of information security; • Operate as a CSIRT of national responsibility for cyber protection; • Coordinate and carry out actions for the management of computer incidents, regarding prevention, monitoring, treatment and response to computational incidents of national responsibility; and • Coordinate the CSIRTs network, formed by government agencies and entities. In summary, the set of services provided by CTIR Gov can be divided into: Incident Notification; Incident Analysis; Incident Response Support; Coordination in Incident Response; Distribution of Alerts, Recommendations and Statistics; and Cooperation with other Incident Management Teams.
