Cancer Research UK Cambridge Centre

Research Services

Overview

The Cancer Research UK Cambridge Centre is a partnership between the University of Cambridge, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK. We are one of four major centres funded by Cancer Research UK within a network of seven translational research centres across the UK. We unite more than 1,200 laboratory researchers and healthcare professionals in Cambridge around a common mission to end death and disease caused by cancer through research, treatment and education. Our members populate Foundational Programmes and Virtual Institutes – the engines of our research – with a particular focus on early detection, personalised and integrated cancer medicine, and cancers of unmet need (lung, pancreatic, paediatric, brain and oesophageal cancer). Each programme and virtual institute facilitates cross-disciplinary research to drive the translation of the latest innovations in cancer science scientific discoveries into clinical applications to improve patient care. Our overarching strategy is to develop a proactive approach to cancer that diagnoses the disease as soon as possible and treats each patient precisely.
