crossCert - Cross Assessment of Energy Certificates in Europe For reliable, practical and people-centred energy performance certification in buildings This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement 101033778. Views are our own. crossCert aims to contribute to the success of the next-generation EPCs (Energy Performance Certificates) by elaborating and testing guidelines and recommendations that will achieve: ▪ Improved usability of the certificate; ▪ A people-centric design and satisfactory user experience; ▪ Increased homogeneity across Europe. This will be achieved by cross-testing both existing and forthcoming certificating procedures in more than 140 buildings in ten member countries. crossCert aims to: 1) Creating a benchmark repository. This tool will help reduce the performance gap by facilitating the evaluation of the EPC performance. 2) Providing technical guidelines for the next generation of EPCs. 3) Developing guidelines and tools for the exploitation of EPC data containing recommendations to create databases for the exploitation of EPC’s data, to link with new EPC’s with concepts such as energy audits and renovation roadmaps. 4) Elaborating a set of guidelines for the design of people-centred EPCs. 5) Providing recommendations for the harmonisation of next generation EPCs. 6) Creating an EPC knowledge exchange centre: a web-based repository of information on EPC approaches. 7) Creating of an EPC community forum.
