Countryside Learning (Reg charity 327091)

Education Administration Programs

Overview

The mission of the Countryside Learning is a simple one. It is to educate, inform and inspire children, parents and teachers, so that they can enjoy and appreciate the countryside while having a greater understanding of the wide range of issues surrounding it. We are a national registered charity (327091) formed in 1986. Countryside Learning acts as a link to a national infrastructure whereby teachers and their pupils can visit and study skilled workers in their workplace, using the knowledge gained and extra resource facilities available through Countryside Learning to take back to the classroom to enhance the school curriculum. Our work in this area is enhanced by our partnership with other like minded organisations especially our work with the Growing Schools Programme which delivers a truly nationwide agenda for education outside the classroom. Today, we are a national charity who reach up to 20,000 children with our programme of events and the members of our Farms for Schools programme reach a further 300,000 children. Visits for a single class or events where up to 4,000 inner city children get the chance, often for the first time, to experience the countryside around them is what we do. Backed up by a range of free online resources that can support the whole family in learning about the world around them, Countryside Learning are there for children, families, teachers and farmers across the UK.
