Overview

The CORRIB Research Centre for Advanced Imaging and Core Laboratory provides cutting-edge imaging methods and decades of cardiovascular imaging expertise to assess the imaging component of trials and registries to ensure they are reproducible and yield the best outcomes. The Core Lab is a centre of excellence for innovation, research, collaboration and education. We have the expertise to support teams through all stages of clinical trials (find out more here: http://www.nuigalway.ie/corrib-corelab/purpose/) The Core Lab team is a combination of imaging analysts and senior interventional cardiologists. The team has expertise in telemedicine needs and guidance by request of physicians performing complex procedures. In close collaboration with other NUI Galway institutes, the Cardiovascular team is working to create novel ideas, solutions in diagnostic and therapeutic arenas to improve patient care. The CORRIB Core Lab data processing system accepts both electronically or physically shipped Core Lab material in stand DICOM format or specific formats and use validated and vendor-independent software packages that are compatible with most commercially available imaging vendors. All CORRIB Core Lab techniques are validated to meet compliance with the latest international regulatory and industry standards: ISO 14155: 2011 (GCP) GCLP endorsed by WHO: 2009 FDA 21 CFR part 11. The team have been collaborating for more than a decade and have developed a comprehensive and innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approach to coronary and structural heart diseases that have contributed to improved patient care. Located in Galway the team are in the very heart of the 'European Silicon Valley' where they will collaborate with numerous NUI Galway centres of excellence. The ultimate goal of this team is to improve patient care and have a cost-effective approach to health care.
