Conservatory of Flowers

Overview

The Conservatory of Flowers is a Victorian wood and glass conservatory built in 1879. Our mission to connect people to plants in a place of exceptional beauty. Located in Golden Gate Park, we're open Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 am to 4:30 pm, for visitors to experience the rare exotic plants and tropical flowers of our jungle in an up close, intimate setting. Our renowned Jungle Tours introduce third through fifth grade students to the unique adaptation strategies plants develop to survive in tropical environments. Typically booking fully each summer when spaces are released, the Conservatory invites teachers to plan their own self-guided tours, offering a singular opportunity to bring their lessons to life. Evening lectures and workshops offer adults the opportunity to learn more, and after hours social programming provides the opportunity for visitors to experience the beauty of the collection and the building after dark, while connecting with each other while enjoying live entertainment and featured local brewers and vintners. The Conservatory of Flowers also provides a signature setting for weddings and private events.
