Overview

The Complex Biological Systems Alliance (CBSA) is a global non-profit research consortium investigating fundamental questions in biology and medicine. The Alliance was established in October 2012 as a unique platform for advanced scientific discourse and discovery. The mission of the Alliance is to further scientific understanding of biological complexity and the nature and origins of human disease. The CBSA is affiliated with a number of world renowned academic institutions. The Alliance currently consists of internationally recognized members accomplished in a wide range of disciplines, including physics, mathematics, statistics, molecular medicine and biotechnology, molecular and human genetics, computational biology and bioinformatics, cell and molecular biology, evolutionary biology and computation, functional genomics, organic chemistry and biochemistry, chemical, biomedical and software engineering, artificial intelligence, and theology and philosophy.
