Overview

COBUS Industries GmbH is a globally active supplier in the field of airport ground support equipment, based in Wiesbaden, Germany. It was founded in 1983 by Jürgen Kamps. Since April 2013, Managing Director Patricia Vasconcelos has been leading the enterprise. In cooperation with our partner companies and shareholders CaetanoBus S.A. in Portugal and Daimler Truck AG (minority shareholder) in Germany, we are leaders in the development, manufacture and supply of apron buses, related services and integrated solutions. Our customers are primarily airport operators, airlines and ground handlers. With more than 4,500 buses sold and reliably in operation at around 350 airports in 109 countries, we achieve a global market share of more than 70 per cent. As a pioneer in passenger service at airports, the first four predecessor models of the COBUS were deployed in Zurich in 1978. In 1990, the first generation of COBUS buses were delivered to Athens Airport, Düsseldorf Airport and Zurich Airport, being the pioneer customers of the COBUS apron buses’ story of success. Meanwhile, a number of further generations followed, now being in the fifth generation. In 2014 an all-electric apron bus from COBUS Industries GmbH was launched on the world market. Our product portfolio includes buses of different passenger capacities, which are optionally powered by diesel engines or fully-electrically. Our focus will continue to be on the development of advanced and sustainable technologies, especially in digitalisation and e-mobility. We provide our customers with individual financing solutions and a unique range of services around the globe. We are an active member of the IAEMA and GATE associations.
