Overview

The Materials Academy (M2A) at Swansea University offers industry sponsored postgraduate research with the aim of upskilling the future industry leaders. Utilising funding from the European Social Fund via the Welsh Government, and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, we are able to offer bursaries of up to £20,000 per annum to our students and part-funding towards sponsorship for industry. Each year M2A offers funding for approximately 30 EngD and MSc research projects covering the subject areas of Advanced Materials, Manufacturing and Computational Modelling. Projects are varied and cover a range of topics from renewable energy through to the development of the latest materials for automotive applications.
