Overview
Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County serves children ages birth through 17 who have been victims of physical and/or sexual abuse, witnessed a violent crime or been exposed to community violence. Cases are criminal and are referred to CAC by a law enforcement agency and/or Department of Family & Protective Services Child Protective Services investigators. Children’s Advocacy Center of Smith County coordinates the efforts of law enforcement agencies, Department of Family & Protective Services Child Protective Services, criminal prosecutors, therapists, victim advocates, and community volunteers in a child-friendly environment in order to bring healing and recovery to child victims of abuse and their families.
