Overview

The Chetwynd Consort is a London-based close harmony group consisting of eight former choral scholars from Cambridge University. Founded in 2017 by Harry Bradford & Rupert Scarratt, two graduates from the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, the group undertakes a wide-variety of engagements from concerts to dinners and weddings. Equally at home with sacred repertoire as well as close-harmony numbers, the group prides itself on offering versatile and wide-ranging programmes. The consort’s first summer tour introduced a “Byrd to the Beatles” programme, featuring music spanning over five hundred years. Indeed the group is lucky to have singers with over ten years experience of close-harmony singing and all members sing actively in London and beyond. Recently the consort has also started an educational scheme, partnering with schools and delivering masterclasses and workshops with students. Recent engagements have included a number of weddings at King’s College, Cambridge, performances at dinners in London (including at the Apothecaries Hall & Gray’s Inn) as well as concerts in Surrey, Kent, Essex and Wiltshire.
