An RAP is the future for Workforce Career Development. It is crucial for industries to implement career based Registered Apprenticeship programs,approved by the Dept of Labor, in order to develop a trained and educated staff which will be dedicated to the success of the company and motivated with career advancement opportunities in a RAP. Hospitality and other industries cannot sustain their businesses without motivated and educated individuals entering the workforce. Schools are the core source of our country’s future workforce. Career Education needs to start in elementary school and continue through middle and high school. Collaborating with industry and education to develop materials, resources and tools for students of all ages is crucial for students to get exposure and make better informed decisions on career pathways. Building Pre Apprenticeship Programs in schools gives students access to training, internships, certifications and partnership development with employers. My team is committed to researching, designing and building templates for Registered Apprenticeships and Pre Apprenticeship across multiple industry partners and schools. Starting with the Hospitality and Restaurant Industry , we will develop 5 RAP across multiple career paths to include , Lodging Manager, Food Manager, Housekeeping Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor and Security Supervisor. These will be available for any hotel to embed as part of their hiring procedures with all their entry level staff. We are working to design multiple Pre Apprenticeship models for high schools to include P-Tech and CTE programs that focus on the hotel and restaurant industry. We want to work with the workforce board training partners to design a pre apprenticeship or embed training into an existing program so clients have opportunities for jobs with multiple employers who offer the RAP career based employment training program.
