Overview

CERAH Asia explores how we, as a civil society, can contribute to addressing the transboundary haze problem affecting Malaysia and neighbouring countries. CERAH consists of everyday citizens that are passionate about holding progress into account on Anti-Haze Action: we are a mix of students, academics, activists, lawyers, environmentalists, writers, engineers, and corporate professionals, ranging from the age of 18 to over 60. Our goal is to embed informed knowledge, at all levels of Malaysian society, corporations, and government, to tackling the neverending haze crisis, and keep tabs on accountability, liability, and transparency. With the technical know-how of our members, we lobby government, ministers, and palm oil and pulp and paper companies, educate various stakeholders, run citizen forums, contribute our expertise into law and enforcement, instigate investigative reporting and awareness, compile literature and evidence for strategic litigation, and form partnerships with our counterparts in the rest of ASEAN. We hope to be a voice of reason and the ultimate catalyst for enacting effective and long-lasting change for anti-haze action. Let’s aim to have clear skies in 2020 and beyond. If you are as concerned as us on Anti-Haze Action, please like our FB page here (FB.me/AntiHazeAction) and follow us on Instagram at @cerahasia.
