Overview

Since 1973, Central Australian Aboriginal Congress has provide support and advocacy for Aboriginal people in the struggle for justice and equity. Since that time, Congress has expanded to become the largest and oldest Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation in the Northern Territory. Congress provides a comprehensive primary health care service to the Aboriginal community of Alice Springs and to outstations within a 100-km radius, and delivers health services in eight remote Central Australian communities. As a culturally responsive service, Congress has an holistic approach to healthcare, taking into account not just a person’s physical health, but their social and emotional health as well as recognising the importance of the cultural wellbeing of our clients’ communities.
